Rainbow Block Quilts
On a stormy day back in August, a rainbow appeared in front of our house. It was so bright and beautiful! Did you know that the rainbow first appeared after the great flood of Noah's day?* It was a promise from God that never again would he destroy the world by means of another flood. It's a restful symbol, one of peace and reassurance.
I love all the colors of the rainbow. Sometimes I like to organize things by color -- like thread, buttons, fabric, even my husband's shirts in the closet. A few years ago I decided to try organizing my fabric scraps by color in a quilt. This is one I made for a baby shower.

I liked it so much that I just had to make another one.
For both quilts, I tried to include something special in each block. As you look them over, you'll find butterflies, cats and bumble bees, flowers, leaves and birds, an elephant, even an airplane. My favorite block, though, is this one with the monkeys.
This quilt was made for our youngest daughter and she choose the color for the binding.
I absolutely love the colors in this quilt and I'm glad we get to keep it! 😁
